Amparo is honoured to stand alongside the Baton of Hope initiative and support World Suicide Prevention Day (WSPD) – two powerful movements driving change in how we talk about, and respond to suicide.
The Baton of Hope exists to drive meaningful action around suicide prevention. As one of the largest suicide postvention services across the UK, Amparo is proud to carry the Baton as part of the UK Tour – helping to amplify the ripple effect of hope, raise awareness, and break the stigma surrounding suicide. The Baton will travel the length of the UK, making it’s finale in London on the 10th October 2025, to coincide with World Mental Health Day.
On 10 September, we mark World Suicide Prevention Day, with this year’s theme: “Changing the Narrative on Suicide.” With 720,000 lives lost globally each year, suicide remains a critical public health issue. Through our work, Amparo continues to champion the importance of dialogue, support, and hope.
“We’re proud to be involved in events across the regions we serve – uniting communities in a shared mission to reduce suicide and support those affected” said Sammy Ashley, Head of Amparo at Listening Ear. “By supporting the tour and sharing the stories of those we walk beside, we affirm a simple but profound truth: every life matters.”
Together, we can make a difference.
