From 1 September 2026, Amparo will extend its existing postvention support service across Essex following the award of a new contract to support people affected by suicide in West Essex.
The new contract builds on Amparo’s established service in Mid and South Essex, creating a single Mid, South and West Essex postvention service, ensuring more individuals, families and communities have access to timely,
compassionate and practical support following a suicide.
As part of the mobilisation of the new service, Amparo will work closely with CHUMS Suicide Bereavement Service, building on the excellent support they have provided to people in West Essex and ensuring a smooth
transition for those accessing support.
Sammy Ashley, Contracts Director at Listening Ear and Director of Amparo, said:

We look forward to supporting individuals, families and communities across Mid, South and West Essex with our specialist postvention service, working alongside local partners to ensure people receive timely, compassionate support when they need it most.”
The latest contract award further strengthens Amparo’s position as one of England’s largest provider of specialist
postvention support, delivering services on behalf of NHS organisations, local authorities and other commissioners across the country.
