We’re pleased to announce that booking is now open for our Lincolnshire Remembrance Event on the 6th November 2025 – open to anyone affected by suicide.

In England and Wales we lose a person to suicide every 1.6 hours. Amparo provides practical and emotional support within 24 hours of a suicide, whilst also supporting those who lost loved ones long ago. As part of our ongoing support offer, we work alongside local authorities and partner agencies to provide events to remember those who have taken their own life – reminding anyone bereaved by suicide that they are not alone.

Our remembrance events provide an opportunity for those bereaved by suicide to come together and remember loved ones in a warm and welcoming environment – providing a safe place for personal reflection and the opportunity to meet others who have shared similar experiences and understand exactly how suicide bereavement can feel.

“Grief after suicide is often complex and isolating, and its impact is profound and far-reaching. In those moments, it can be incredibly hard to reach out and ask for help. But it’s in those very moments that we must try to connect by seeking support, sharing our experiences, and reminding each other that we are not alone. Things can get better. With hope, acceptance, and compassion, we can begin to shape a new future – one that may look and feel different, but still holds meaning, connection, and healing” says Sammy Ashley, Head of Amparo.

Our Lincolnshire Remembrance event is hosted by Amparo and will include poetry, music, readings and personal experiences. We offer the opportunity to lay photographs of loved ones which will be displayed during the event, as well as several opportunities to honour and remember those lost to suicide.

Past events have been extremely well-attended, with those attending describing the events as ‘simple, beautiful and poignant’.

Whether you’ve been recently bereaved, or are remembering loved ones from longer ago, we invite you to join us to honour those lost.
